*"Open Marriage" – a humorous, witty, and surprisingly topical comedy by Nobel laureate Dario Fo and his wife, actress and playwright Franca Rame. It is a story about a marriage trying to find its way in the reality of “open relationships,” painful honesty, and endless compromises.
He – confident, liberal “modern man” who thinks everything is allowed for him. She – increasingly desperate, sensitive but also witty woman who begins to understand that “openness” can have many faces.
In dynamic, emotional, and ironic dialogues, the characters engage in a duel of words, feelings, and ego. Laughter mixes with bitterness, and beneath the surface of the comedy lies a moving story about loneliness, the need for closeness, and fighting for oneself.
"Open Marriage" is an intelligent, funny, and very energetic play that will entertain, move, and leave you with questions – not only about love.
